Earth and Culture Who are these people who grow the land that feeds us? They wear rubber boots and hats, rise at dawn, driving around in big tractor rain or shine and work on weekends or even seven days a week. If they are not big producers, they are not very rich but face competition to continue. They constantly seek grants from governments. Mother Nature made them see all the colors throughout the year. That's about all we learn from the lives of these workers are essential to our society. And yet ... what would be our base and our stomachs they were not there?
